Rail-road transport our products take the train.
Since 2022, M-extend has committed to a low-carbon trajectory aligned with the Paris Agreement. Our goal is to reduce indirect emissions per loader by 48%.
One of the key levers identified to achieve this trajectory is freight transport.

Our Approach
To support this goal, we conducted a thorough analysis of all our transport activities. This study covered upstream flows (from suppliers to our sites), internal logistics, and downstream flows (from our sites to clients) in order to identify the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Among the solutions evaluated, combined rail-road transport (also known as piggybacking) emerged as the most relevant option to meet our CO2 reduction targets. To implement this approach, we chose to partner with CEVA Logistics, a company already familiar with our products and logistics flows.
A decarbonisation project already underway
Since December 2024, we have implemented a downstream transport route (from our sites to our clients) via Lyon, followed in January 2025 by a second route via Lille. These actions aim to reduce our freight-related carbon footprint by 9% within three years, equivalent to 200 tons of CO2. Ultimately, we are aiming for a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions. What’s next? In 2025, we plan to implement upstream transport flows (from our suppliers to our sites) to continue progressing along our low-carbon path. Our approach is part of the FRET21 program, led by the French Freight Transport Users Association (FFTUA) in partnership with ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition). This new logistics strategy reflects our concrete commitment to climate action, while continuing to ensure the high quality of our services.
